We accomplish this by serving as a center of excellence for farmer training, a demonstration site for climate-smart technologies, and a hub for value addition.
Our value addition factory is strategically located next to smallholder farms, complemented by a mobile facility, the Factory on Wheels, which moves to areas where fresh produce is available. By reducing the time and distance between harvesting and value addition, we effectively address post-harvest loss at the source.
Fueled by the founders' expertise and passion for aquaculture, we also operate a fish farm that serves as a demonstration site, assisting farmers in establishing and managing profitable fish farms in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) regions.
Iviani Farm works with over 5,000 smallholder farmers, purchasing fresh fruits at premium prices. Using farmgate and mobile value addition technologies, it extends shelf life by up to 24 months and increases value by 8-10 times, reducing post-harvest losses while boosting farmers’ income and profitability.
Iviani Farm runs an accredited fish hatchery, producing premium tilapia and catfish fingerlings. Alongside this, we offer expert consultancy services to champion sustainable fish farming across Africa’s arid and semi-arid regions, empowering farmers to thrive with innovative solutions and boost their yields in tough conditions.
Iviani Farm's ASAL Aquaculture Academy is dedicated to training a new generation of fish farmers. Through hands-on learning and expert-led courses, the academy equips individuals with the skills to thrive in aquaculture, with a special focus on sustainable practices in arid and semi-arid regions, transforming local communities through innovation and growth.
